Traveling While Plant Based and Gluten-Free in Namibia: Part Two

By Molly Patrick
May 7, 2022,

The food separated Onguma from the rest of the lodges/camps we stayed. They had a Namibian chef named Hendrina who knew how to cook plant based gluten-free food! By this point in our trip, the food bar was pretty low, so I wasn’t expecting what Hendrina had in store.
Every meal was legit tasty and something I would have made at home, minus the oil. I was so glad to have three days here so that I could eat! We would stay at this lodge again in a heartbeat.

The meal pictured above was one of the three most memorable meals of my life. It was simple but soul-satisfying and inspired episode 31 of the Clean Food Dirty Girl podcast.

Just the sound of nature for three whole days. We did a lot of napping and reading. By this time in our trip, we had settled into the quiet stillness and started to embrace and enjoy being unplugged and disconnected from the rest of the world.

Wow! Love it! I heard your podcast and the story of the zebra peeing for 7 minutes. Not to be a weirdo, but I wish you had a video of that lol.
Not zebra, giraffe! I can’t edit my comment.
