Incorporating Mindset and Food: A Plant-Based Weight Loss Path That Works for a Lifetime

Incorporating Mindset and Food Plant-Based Weight Loss Path That Works For A Lifetime

Update: our plant-powered weight loss program, Drop It Club, is available for pre-launch registration. See more here.

My path in life has led me to life coaching and being a whole-food plant-based educator, and I’ve helped many people achieve plant-based weight loss. Many people hire life coaches to lose weight, and many people transition to eating plant-based to lose weight.

The thing that never sat right with me about most weight loss coaching is that the core emphasis is on mindset, with little to no mention of food. And what never sat right with me about most whole-food plant-based educators when talking about weight loss is that the core emphasis is on food, with little to no emphasis on mindset.

By being part of the coaching world and the plant-based world, I’ve learned that in order to lose weight and keep it off, mindset is just as important as food, and food is just as important as mindset. They complement each other beautifully because when you get the food part basically worked out, the mindset part gets easier. And when you get the mindset part basically worked out, the food part gets easier.

When people try to lose weight with mindset modifications alone, they miss out on massive health benefits.

When people try to lose weight by switching to a whole-food plant-based diet alone, they miss out on being able to reach for ice cream once in a while without beating themselves up and having it turn into self-sabotage.

When you incorporate mindset work along with whole-food plant-based eating, it puts you on the path of long-term weight loss that’s healthy and balanced while feeling empowered, energized, strong, loving, and capable of handling whatever comes your way.

  • Do you have to be perfect? No.
  • Will you need to tweak your diet depending on your situation and history with food? Yes.
  • Is it easier to do this with other people? Absolutely.
  • Can you lose weight with kindness instead of shame? Oh my gosh, yes.
  • Can you enjoy food and love eating while still losing weight? YES!
  • Is it easy? No, not always.
  • Is it possible to lose weight even if you’re smack dab in the middle of menopause? Yes, 100%.
  • Is there an unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standard in many parts of the world where thin is best and skinny is better? Yes, and it’s fucked up.
  • Should that stop you from losing weight if that’s what you want? Nope. You get to decide what’s right for you and your body.
  • Are there reasons why maintaining a healthy weight is a good idea? Yes, cancer and diabetes risk factors, to name just a couple.
  • Do I feel like I’m at a pep rally, pumping up the crowd? YES!!!
  • Is that a natural role for me? NOOOOO, believe it or not, I’ve always felt kind of shy!

Here’s the thing. I’ve resisted offering a comprehensive and ongoing plant-based weight loss program with Clean Food Dirty Girl for the past 10 years because I haven’t wanted to contribute to the unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standards that say thin is better. Thinner isn’t better. Just like bigger isn’t better. People of all sizes and shapes are beautiful, and the human body is wondrous. It’s up to each of us how we want to look and feel.

And because of that, I’m going to bridge the gap between mindset and food and give all the beautiful Dirties who want to lose weight a safe space to become the size that feels best to them and help them maintain it—with a whole lotta love, kindness, and support (and an f-bomb or two.)

So that’s what we’re doing. And it’s going to be epic. Sign up here to be the first in line and to snag an exclusive deal when we open the doors.

I’m so happy my path has led me here.
