No matter its size or shape, the human body is a beautiful, miraculous, stunning, complex, highly intelligent organism made up of trillions of cells. TRILLIONS of cells. 🤯

My brain doesn’t know what to do with that information.

It’s like when I visited the Musée de Cluny, the medieval museum in Paris, and saw a bathtub from the 3rd century.

I don’t know about you, but the year 201 doesn’t seem like a thing. Yet, there I was, looking at a bathtub from that very year. It felt like a special moment, but I didn’t really know how to make sense of how old it was, so I just moved on and looked at the next VERY OLD thing.

As a side note, decks of playing cards were NOT invented in the 70s in Ohio like I was very certain of for absolutely no reason. At that same museum, I saw a King of diamonds from the 1500s. What? 

Okay, back to the human body having a bajillion cells. For this next bit, it will be painfully obvious that I am not a doctor, scientist, or historian.

As we live our lives, many of those kajillion cells get out of whack. There are a lot of things that disrupt healthy cells, but unlike in the year 201 (probably?), eating like crap is one of the main culprits today.

If you’re like most humans of this era, you A) don’t bathe in a big marble basin and B) have experienced some of the symptoms that arise when whole plant foods are largely ignored

But in order for the body to work its genius and make sure all those bajillion cells are doing their jobs, we have to stop eating foods that get in the way and start eating more plant based foods that help the process

Foods that get in the way: 

Meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, processed foods, oil, refined sugar, and refined carbohydrates.

Foods that help the body: 

Veggies, fruits, beans, legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and minimally processed plant based ingredients like tofu and whole-grain bread. 

This can be a big change, I get it. I can’t even wrap my head around a very old bathtub, and that doesn’t impact my day-to-day life. 😅 I might not be a doctor, scientist, or historian, but I do know how to help people bring their bodies into balance. 

It’s pretty simple. 

You have to enjoy the food that helps your body thrive

That’s it. If you enjoy eating healthy plant based foods, you will eat them. Not because you “should” but because you genuinely prefer them over the foods that work against your health. 

If you focus on eating whole plant foods, your life will change. Your body will have the best chance possible to bring itself into balance, and as a result, you will feel amazing. That alone is incredible, but it’s only the beginning. You’ll enjoy the ripple effect of that change for the rest of your life.

Think increased energy, improved skin, being more patient and clear-minded, better sleep, having a healthy relationship with food, fewer colds and flus, reaching a healthy weight for your frame, a more positive outlook on life, being satiated after you eat instead of feeling “full,” inspiration to be more creative, and feeling like you have a whole new lease on life.
