This can save me how much time?

It’s not realistic for most people, me included, to cook every meal from scratch.
If I can’t put together a meal in under 15 minutes, I will rarely do it. Five to ten minutes is my preferred time to spend on getting a meal together. This is why batch cooking is a non-negotiable for me.

If I were to spend one hour making every meal, I would be spending 21 hours on my meals every week.

my face when I have to make meals that take an hour

Instead, if I make it a point to set aside 3 hours one day a week and cook a bunch of food for the week, I only have to spend around 10 minutes putting together each meal during the week. This saves a massive amount of time. Instead of 21 hours of cooking, I spend 6.5 hours (3 hours for batching and 10 minutes per meal).

This is why I tell people that batch cooking is a fantastic time management tool. Plus, eating a whole-food plant-based diet pays you back in health. So yes, I am setting aside this time to cook, but I am also setting aside this time so I can age with grace, feel energetic, boost my immune system, avoid pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, protect my heart, keep my microbiome balanced and humming, help my hormones stay balanced, and keep inflammation away.

It’s a win-win on every level.

How I do it.

I use Meal Plan Club each and every week, and either choose one of our meal plans and follow along, or I choose five or six recipes and batch those. Add in a batch of breakfast porridge and I’m on my way to easy, fast, plant-powered, nutrient-rich meals all week long. I usually make our Simple plans because they are faster, but if I have more time and want a leveled-up flavor experience, I will cook a gourmet plan. Both are excellent!
