The bitter and the sweet

Sometimes we have fun days filled with laughter and stories.
Sometimes we have lonely days filled with silence.

There’s the giddy anticipation of picking family up at the airport.
There’s the heaviness of dropping them off.

There’s the pride of reaching a goal.
There’s the sting of realizing our happiness is not dependent on reaching a goal.

There’s the joy of seeing the ones we love happy, playing in the ocean, having fun with friends, laughing.
There’s the nervous stomachache of hearing what news the most recent set of scans might bring to someone we cherish.

There’s the rush of making choices that support our health and well-being.
There’s the crash when we don’t.

There’s the thrill of passing a test.
There’s the disappointment of not getting the outcome we wanted.

There’s the healing balm of a good conversation.
There’s the regret of words not said.

Everything in our life is in constant motion; morphing, changing, evolving, oscillating from one pendulum to the next.

Things expand and then contract.

Come together and then fall apart.

A new day comes after a hard night.

Relief comes after tears.

One day it's yes, the next day it's no.

We so want the things that make us happy to stick around, and the things that make us sad to go away.

But that’s not how it works. And actually, we need both.

The bitter helps us grow. The sweet is cosmic relief. They work together in tandem, playing off each other, providing us the ultimate human experience.

And we are built to handle all of it.

Today on the blog, I’m giving you a list of tips to make batching easier on your precious body. We’re also giving you a Chipotle Peach Pasta Salad recipe that is so yummy. Let’s do it up over here.
