I’m back! 👋

Welcome to 2025!

I am having a wonderful time in Europe. I rang in the new year with my family in Leiden, Netherlands, about 30 minutes from Amsterdam. It was a wonderful way to start the year.

I always spend some time on New Year’s Eve reflecting on the past year and writing a few things down that I want to be mindful of or expand on in the coming year. I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions. I would rather do the best I can year-round instead of putting a lot of pressure on myself to be “perfect” one month and then letting it all go to hell in a handbasket the rest of the year. It’s more sustainable to aim for imperfection is what I’m saying.

We often think we *have* to be perfect in order to reach our goals.
But no, we reach our goals when we’re not perfect and we keep moving forward.

Whether you want to focus on tapping into your creativity this year, bettering your personal relationships, having more patience, starting a spiritual practice, changing careers, decluttering, improving your financial health, or feeling better emotionally, here's a tip: Start with your physical body and make sure your basics are taken care of consistently for two weeks before you start working on anything else.

This means:

  • Eating healthy food
  • Moving your body a bit each day
  • Staying hydrated
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Regularly spending some time outside
  • Switching to non-toxic laundry and cleaning products
  • Drinking less alcohol or cutting it out completely

Making sure your physical body is taken care of will create a solid base so you can work on the other things that are important to you. Your body is bus stop number one when it comes to caring for yourself—everything else is secondary. Give yourself two weeks to develop healthy routines for your physical body and then work on the other stuff. When your body is running smoothly, everything else will be easier, or at least more manageable.

If you want help with this, especially if you’re wanting to shed a few pounds this year, check out Drop It Club. It’s my new signature program that we’re kicking off on Monday!

Here’s to a glittery, gorgeous, messy, imperfect 2025, my friend.
I’m so happy to be back in your inbox.
