I don't know

Standing in “I don’t know” is both scary and empowering.

Scary because it drops the illusion of being in control.
Empowering because it drops the illusion of being in control.

Try it with me. Say it out loud:

“I don’t know.”
“Nope, no clue.”
“I don’t have the answer.”
“Fuck if I know.”
“Beats me.”

Maybe these resonate with you better:

“Your guess is as good as mine.”
“I haven’t the faintest.”
“I’ve been wondering the same thing.”
“Fuck knows.”
“I have no idea.”

After you feel the fear of “I don’t know” you can start enjoying the freedom of “I don’t know.”

It allows you to breathe a little deeper and find some space.
It allows you to stop grasping and start releasing.
It allows your shoulders to soften and your body to relax.

We don’t have all the answers because we simply can’t have all the answers. This isn’t to say we can’t get shit done and kick ass with whatever it is we’re working on. It just means that we don’t know exactly how everything will pan out along the way.

All we can do is show up and consistently put one foot in front of the next.

There will be hurdles and roadblocks and challenges and things that make us question why we’re doing whatever it is we’re doing. Not having all the answers isn’t a deal breaker. Giving up because you don’t have all the answers is.

It’s okay to not know right now.
Take a deep breath, and relax into the mystery of life.

Your answers will come.

Today over on the blog, I talk about what I eat when I’m grieving and don’t feel like eating. We’re also giving you a super easy plant powered sandwich recipe. See you over on the blog!
