Can you guess how many times I’ve moved?

I’ve moved 28 times in my life.
TWENTY-EIGHT.

When I moved into my current house in 2019, I thought for sure it would be my last move. And then, life happened and things changed, and here I am packing boxes, donating books, selling furniture, combing through my clothes, boxing up my kitchen, and deciding what I can live without. My new place is about three-quarters the size of the house I’m moving out of.

It will be so. very. cozy.
I’m worried about Sweet Pea and how she will adjust.
I have no idea how I’m going to fit all my ingredients and kitchen stuff into my new little kitchen.
But just like everything in life, a way will reveal itself.

Between posting furniture for sale online, finding new homes for all my plants, and trying really hard to put some of my books in the library donation box, I finally watched You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment on Netflix. In this documentary, they took 22 pairs of identical twins and put one twin on an omnivore diet and the other on a vegan diet, and the results were, of course, astounding. Documentaries like this one are so important. If you haven’t seen it, gather the family, make some yummy air-popped popcorn with nutritional yeast, and check it out!

After watching it, I was reminded how much joy I get from doing what I do: helping people eat more plants. I’ve been doing it for so long, and the message is finally starting to get out there on a larger scale. Eating plants is the best thing you can do for your overall health, climate change, and the welfare of animals. There have been so many studies done on this that it’s not even a question anymore, it’s just how it is. With that, not everyone is going to hop on the plant fueled train, but at least the information is more accessible than ever.

I wrote a blog post with a simple blueprint for going vegan or whole-food plant-based many years ago. I revamped the post after I watched that awesome documentary, and it’s just as helpful now as it was then. If you’re inspired to eat less meat and dairy but aren’t sure where to start, this will be a great post for you.

If you know anyone trying to eat less meat, or who’s already vegan and wants to eat more whole foods, forward them this email, and they can check out the post. If you find it helpful, I would love for you to let me know in the comments of the blog post.

Okay, back to packing. The funny thing is, I know this 29th time moving will not be my last. I have at least 5 more moves in me - ha!
