Sticking to a super healthy plant based diet might be easy when you’re at home in your kitchen, rolling along with your routine, but what happens when you get in a car or a plane and roll out of town for vacay? I get asked about this a lot and I always tell people that it’s totally doable to stick to eating like a healthy plant based boss when traveling, it just takes two things:
There were many excellent moments during our trip to Australia. But cuddling a koala took the damn cake. Just look! The best part? This koala smelled like an explosion of eucalyptus. It was a blissful experience.
Another thing that got me hot during our trip was navigating my food. I loved scoping out produce sections. Packing lunches for our long ass road trip. Finding Farmer’s Markets. Ordering the most WFPB friendly items on the menu when we went out to eat. Making overnight oats, green smoothies and plant-based dishes for Luanne’s meat loving family and their friends.
Dr. Fuhrman might look like a badass gangster from the 40’s, but he’s actually a plant based gangster from present day.
And I was lucky enough to have a chat with him a few weeks ago. I love this dude and his work has been a huge inspiration to me and the work that I put out into the world. His books have helped me up my plant game and they continue to be a guiding force in my weekly Plant Fueled Meal Plans.
All unprocessed plant foods play an important role in your life and your health, and leafy greens pack an extra special healthy punch. The abundance of nutrients found in all leafy greens warrants them a solid spot in your daily routine, just like brushing your teeth, reminding yourself how loved you are, and playing with your fur baby (or regular baby if that’s what you have going on).
Here’s the deal.
How you feel, how you look, how many medications you’re on and how healthy you are overall has a lot to do with the nutrient density of your diet.
Just like any bad habit that doesn’t serve your health and wellbeing, cheese is a bitch to quit.
