If you're a perfectionist, read this

Perfectionism has a sneaky little way of preventing us from moving forward.

And the brain is cool with this because when we don’t move forward, we don’t put ourselves in a position where we could make a mistake, do it wrong, be embarrassed, get frustrated, feel defeated, make an ass out of ourselves, mess up, miss our deadline, drop the ball, overstep, or experience the general discomfort that comes along with doing something new.

So the price we pay for being a perfectionist (AKA avoiding possible discomfort) is not moving forward. But here's the irony: we also experience discomfort when we don’t move forward. So the discomfort we try to avoid by not moving forward is something we’re already experiencing.

This is just my humble opinion, but you may as well say fuck it and go after what you want, accepting that there will be some amount of discomfort either way. It’s up to you, but isn’t it more fun to slay your dreams?

I choose the discomfort from moving toward my goals over the discomfort from not moving at all. Any. Damn. Day.

It’s not about being perfect.

It’s about taking steps in the direction you want to go, knowing there will be mistakes and fails along the way, and not letting that stop you.

Today I’m talking with Meghan Folger, one of our awesome subscribers. We had an amazing talk, and I know you will love it. We’re also giving you a Buffalo Cauliflower Wings recipe that you won’t want to miss. Let’s do it all over here.
