Whole Food Plant Based Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

canned diced tomatoes in their juice

fresh basil, chopped and tightly packed

tomato paste

Instructions
Heat a large pan and add the onions.
Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring intermittently.
After 5 minutes add 2 tablespoons of water and stir.
Add the garlic, fresh tomatoes, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, and salt. Stir until combined.
Turn the heat down to low and cover with a lid at an angle so the lid isn’t tight.
Simmer for one hour, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
