This method works for any type of potato - sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, red potatoes, etc. You can cook just one or two potatoes or you can fill your Instant Pot 3/4 of the way full with potatoes and this still works brilliantly.
Pour the water into the pot and then place the potatoes on the trivet. Lock the lid into place, making sure the nozzle is in the sealing position.
If your potatoes are really small, follow this technique exactly, but set the timer for 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes.
