Humans need many things to live happy, healthy lives: food, water, shelter, exercise, relationships of various kinds, emotional support, etc. As a society, we talk about these needs a lot. There are dozens of industries set up to help people meet each of them. However, there’s one genuine need that we don’t spend enough time discussing: pleasure. Yes, humans need pleasure as part of a well-rounded, joyful life.
Pleasure can take many forms. It can be the relief of taking off your shoes after a long day, the comfort of a loving hug from a friend, an earth-shaking orgasm, and the full-body relaxation that follows, or it can be the simple zing of delight a delicious sweet treat gives us. Of course, there are types of pleasure that can be bad or harmful for us. But dessert doesn’t have to be one of them.
To that end, we’ve put together a list of whole-food plant-based desserts you’ll love and that love you back. These beauties are deeply tasty and free of dairy, eggs, oil, and highly processed ingredients. We’ve got favorites from our blog and yummy selections from Clean Food Dirty Girl. Let’s get started!

This is the best CDFG dessert I’ve ever had. I recommend putting berries on top!
– Amanda
I love this recipe so much. It’s super rich without being overly sweet. Also, the frosting makes a TON more than I ever need for the cake but I make it anyway to eat by the spoonful.

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies
These classic treats have a five-star rating from our members for a reason. Rich, chewy brownies are swirled with peanut butter drizzle. They’re what dessert dreams are made of!
My favorite way to consume black beans!!
– Amanda
These are delicious. I was skeptical—not so much worried about the black beans as I was about the complete lack of oil (my past experience with oil-free brownies has not been good). However, to my surprise, these have a good texture and flavor. Don’t taste “healthy” at all. I would consider these to be more like a dense cake than a brownie.

BEST vegan cupcakes I ever made! I did make the frosting. It didn’t turn out very thick, so I put the cupcakes on plates and drizzled it on top.
