We can get mighty dramatic
What if there is no such thing as self-sabotage?
What if some things are just harder to do than others?
Sometimes when we get off track or we aren’t doing the things we know are good for us, we can get mighty dramatic.
We declare that we’re “self sabotaging” and there must be something terribly wrong with us. 🕵️ Then we spend a good amount of energy figuring out "why" we’re like this. That dog and pony show might seem helpful, but in reality, it just distracts us from doing the things that will actually get us back on track.
Maybe some things are just hard so we’re not as motivated to do them.
And if we left it at that, pulled on our big person undies, and carried on with the hard things, then bit by bit we would get back on track and maybe even reach our goals. No deep-dive detour into our psyche or Oscar-worthy dramatic diversions needed.
There’s nothing wrong with you, just go do the things. 🩲
Tomorrow, I'm off to fabulous Paris for the next 2+ months. I’ll be taking a few side trips while I’m there to check out the region of Brittany (Bretagne), and of course visiting my family in the Netherlands. There will be vegan croissants, a shit-ton of walking, and a delicious amount of art. I can’t wait to go to the farmers’ markets and cook with the season. I’ll be sharing updates on Instagram. These Love Letters will continue as usual.
Bisous bisous,
Molly
