Life, oh life.
We are here but for a short while.
And then it’s over.
It’s true. I’ve seen it happen with my own two eyes.
Someone is here and then, poof, they are gone.
It will be like that for me eventually. And for you.
On the list of things to remember, it seems like this should be toward the top.
Not to make us sad or scared, but as a nudge to help us live in a most excellent way.
That is to say, in a way that delights us.
What delights you? What lights you up? When do you feel most alive?
Maybe it’s when you write, or paint, or swim in the salty sea.
Maybe it’s when you draw, or dance, or walk amongst the trees.
Maybe it’s when you are in service, helping with the collective unease.
Or maybe it’s simply falling into the grass on your knees like Mary Oliver when she asked what you plan to do with your one wild and precious life.
What is it for you? What connects you to the pulse of life flowing through you?
It’s probably not endless scrolling.
It’s probably not being glued to the TV.
It’s probably not comparing yourself to others.
It’s probably not complaining about all the many things outside of your control.
Turn that all off and tap into your unique magic. Your ever-present creativity. Your innate abundance. Your wild, wondrous life.
Summon the bravery within, and dare to do more of what makes you happy.
We are here but for a short while. Don’t miss it.
Share this with someone who could use the reminder.
